Horror of USA's depleted Uranium

'Depleted' uranium is in many ways a misnomer. 'Depleted' sounds weak. The only weak thing about depleted uranium is its price. It is dirt cheap, toxic, waste from nuclear power plants and bomb production. However, uranium is one of earth's heaviest elements and DU packs a Tyson's punch, smashing through tanks, buildings and bunkers with equal ease, spontaneously catching fire as it does so, and burning people alive. 'Crispy critters' is what US servicemen call those unfortunate enough to be close. And, when John Pilger encountered children killed at a greater distance he wrote: "The children's skin had folded back, like parchment, revealing veins and burnt flesh that seeped blood, while the eyes, intact, stared straight ahead. I vomited."

US media censor uranium weapons stories

A dedication in 2120 might say: Dedicated to the memory of the Iraqi people. Many people believe Iraq was the birthplace of civilization some 5,000 years ago. Iraq was destroyed and radioactively contaminated in an early 21st Century Oil War by a fascist world power, now extinguished.

Memorial Day should be renamed Mourning Day

There are no "good" wars or "just" wars, only death and destruction that modern day bullies in the seats of power escape by sending other people's kids to kill and die for them.

The pipeline that will change the world

The first drops of crude will snake their way along a pipeline that traverses some of the most unstable and war-ravaged countries on earth.

A huge 11-year-long undertaking, the pipeline will transform the Caucasus and Turkey into an energy bridge between the Caspian and the rest of the world when it is fully operational six months from now.

But much of the gleam of that accomplishment was worn away over the past week by Azerbaijan when police badly beat and arrested scores of people attending a peaceful rally on Saturday as part of a wider crackdown linked to the pipeline's opening.

Neoconomics in One Lesson

This essential truth should not be surprising, as it is the very nature of government to suck up the resources of the population it purports to “govern,” in times of relative peace as well as in times of war. There is absolutely no way that government can “create” anything--it can only take away or destroy. That’s all it can do. If it is “providing” something to someone, it is doing so only by the means of taking something away from someone else. To forcibly transfer something from one individual’s hands to another’s is, obviously, not really “providing,” it’s stealing, and indeed it is destroying, as the plundered individual gets absolutely nothing in exchange. The State is a parasitic leech.

Galloway v the US Senate

In quotes: the Galloway showdown

Some of the quotes from British MP George Galloway as he confronted his accusers on a US Senate sub-committee.

"Who paid me hundreds of thousands of dollars? The answer to that is nobody and if you had anybody who paid me a penny you would have produced them here today."

"I have met Saddam Hussein exactly the same number of times as Donald Rumsfeld met him. The difference is that Donald Rumsfeld met him to sell him guns and to give him maps the better to target those guns."

"You traduced my name around the world without ever having asked me a single question, without ever having contacted me, without ever having written to me or telephoned me, without any contact with me whatsoever and you call that justice."

"Senator [Norm Coleman, committee chairman], this is the mother of all smoke screens. You are trying to divert attention from the crimes that you supported from the theft of billions of dollars of Iraq's wealth."

"You have nothing on me Senator [Coleman], except my name on lists of names in Iraq, many of which were drawn up after the installation of your puppet government in Iraq."

"I have never seen a barrel of oil, owned one, bought one, sold one, and neither has anybody on my behalf."

"I know that standards have slipped over the last few years in Washington but for a lawyer you are remarkably cavalier with any idea of justice."

"One of the most serious mistakes you have made in this set of documents is such a schoolboy howler it makes a fool of the efforts you have made."

"Senator [Coleman], in everything I said about Iraq I turned out to be right and you turned out to be wrong and 100,000 have paid with their lives, 1,600 of them American soldiers sent to their deaths on a pack of lies."

``Rods from God''

President George W. Bush is expected to issue a directive in the next few weeks giving the U.S. air force a green light for the development of space weapons, potentially triggering a new global arms race, it was reported on Wednesday.

The new weapons being studied range from hunter-killer satellites to orbiting weapons using lasers, radio waves, or even dense metal tubes dropped from space by a weapon known as ``Rods from God''** on ground targets.

Newsweek Lied and People Died

Editorial: Damage to U.S./White House, look in the mirror
May 21, 2005

It is said by the White House that Newsweek magazine damaged U.S. standing abroad with its since-retracted, short report on Qur'an abuse at Guantánamo. Because reports of such abuse have abounded for years, and have been reconfirmed by the Red Cross, we doubt that very much. But there is something else to be said on this issue: If Newsweek's story caused damage, it is but a speck compared with the damage caused by this administration and its well-documented habit of abusing prisoners in Guantánamo, Iraq and Afghanistan.

The latest, infuriating evidence comes from a confidential file of the Army's criminal investigation into abuse at the Bagram Collection Point in Afghanistan, a copy of which was obtained by the New York Times and reported on Friday:

"Even as the young Afghan man was dying before them, his American jailers continued to torment him.

"The prisoner, a slight, 22-year-old taxi driver known only as Dilawar, was hauled from his cell at the detention center in Bagram, Afghanistan, at around 2 a.m. to answer questions about a rocket attack on an American base. When he arrived in the interrogation room, an interpreter who was present said, his legs were bouncing uncontrollably in the plastic chair and his hands were numb. He had been chained by the wrists to the top of his cell for much of the previous four days.

"Mr. Dilawar asked for a drink of water, and one of the two interrogators, Specialist Joshua R. Claus, 21, picked up a large plastic bottle. But first he punched a hole in the bottom, the interpreter said, so as the prisoner fumbled weakly with the cap, the water poured out over his orange prison scrubs. The soldier then grabbed the bottle back and began squirting the water forcefully into Mr. Dilawar's face.

" 'Come on, drink!' the interpreter said Specialist Claus had shouted, as the prisoner gagged on the spray. 'Drink!'

"At the interrogators' behest, a guard tried to force the young man to his knees. But his legs, which had been pummeled by guards for several days, could no longer bend. An interrogator told Mr. Dilawar that he could see a doctor after they finished with him. When he was finally sent back to his cell, though, the guards were instructed only to chain the prisoner back to the ceiling.

" 'Leave him up,' one of the guards quoted Specialist Claus as saying.

"Several hours passed before an emergency room doctor finally saw Mr. Dilawar. By then he was dead, his body beginning to stiffen."

The writer of that dramatic piece is Tim Golden. Will White House spokesman Scott McClellan now accuse him and his editors of also damaging American standing abroad?

This atrocity was committed in our name, each of us, our children and grandchildren. So was the abuse at Abu Ghraib. So was the abuse at Guantánamo. So was the fictional account of Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction used to justify an unnecessary war. So were the tens of thousands of Iraqi civilian deaths that war has caused. And White House officials have the gall to accuse Newsweek of damaging the name of this beloved nation?

BIG COURT FIX Part 1

Here is the start of what you need to know about the Courts. This applies to primarily state and federal civil cases, in bigger communities and cities. And please note, not EVERY court case is corrupt. Maybe one out of twenty or one out of forty. But after you study this series, you might become more skilled in telling which is which..

The Complete Bushisms

Halliburton Watch

Blame it on Newsweek!

Weekly "news" magazine "Newsweek" published an article that stated that one of the many sins committed whilst at war was that U.S. troops allegedly threw a prisoner's Qur'an "down the toilet" at Gitmo. This morning the talk show circuit has its talking points blazing with the how dare they quote anonymous sources and how they're (Newsweek) to blame for this violence and that indiscretion. What a load of crap! It's perfectly fine to do the following: strip, fondle, sodomize (with glow sticks no less), make human pyramids with, assault with attack dogs, place underwear on heads (most probably soiled at that), beat, kick, blast with obnoxious music, drape in Israeli flags, smear with feces, stand on cartons with electrodes attached to limbs, chain up, deprive of sleep, the list goes on and on.... Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the DU - Depleted Uranium. Damn you Newsweek! Damn you!

Leave your tired and impotent clichés at the door.

The Glory of War

War is the devil's sacrament. It promises to bind us not with God but with the nation state. It grants not life but death. It provides not liberty but slavery. It lives not on truth but on lies, and these lies are themselves said to be worthy of defense. It exalts evil and puts down the good. It is promiscuous in encouraging an orgy of sin, not self-restraint and thought. It is irrational and bloody and vicious and appalling. And it claims to be the highest achievement of man.

Project sets sights on illegal guns

"If fewer people carry guns, fewer violent crimes will happen."

Huh? It's this distorted thinking that has really screwed the world up. Seriously. In reality, just the OPPOSITE is true. If MORE people carried guns, and used them to defend themselves against crimes committed against their person, there would be fewer crimes!

US State Department identifies nations sponsoring terrorism

"The U.S. State Department has listed the countries it says are still engaging in state-sponsored terrorism. Cuba , North Korea , Syria , and, in particular, Iran are named in the department's ‘Country Reports on Terrorism’ released on Wednesday (April 27)." Why aren’t the US , Israel , and Britain on the list?
